Tragic Incident in Siddharthnagar

In Siddharthnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, a rescue operation was launched to save two children who became trapped atop a water tank. Initially, five children had climbed the tank, but the ladder collapsed due to its dilapidated condition. As a result, three children fell, leading to one fatality and two others sustaining serious injuries. The injured were promptly taken to a hospital for treatment.

Condition of the Water Tank

Authorities reported that the incident occurred in the Kanshiram Colony, where the five boys had climbed a water tank that was approximately 30 years old and in a state of disrepair. When they attempted to descend, the ladder suddenly gave way, causing three of them to fall while the remaining two were left stranded at the top. Efforts were made to create an alternative route to rescue the boys, but heavy rain hampered these attempts.

Successful Rescue by Army Helicopter

Given the circumstances, the district magistrate contacted the Chief Minister's office and the Disaster Management Department to request an Air Force helicopter from Gorakhpur. The helicopter arrived, and after considerable effort, both boys were safely brought down around 5:20 AM on Sunday. The district magistrate and police officials were present throughout the operation, which was deemed a success due to the swift action of the administration and coordination with the military, preventing a larger tragedy.
