realme Emerges as the Top Smartphone Choice for Young Consumers
realme's Popularity Among Youth
New Delhi, Feb 27: realme has solidified its position as the leading smartphone brand among the youth, as highlighted by the CMR Consumer Insight Survey 2026. This recognition stems from high levels of user satisfaction and strong advocacy among Generation Z and Millennials.
The survey reveals that today's young consumers prioritize powerful performance, dependable battery life, and designs that reflect their personal style.
Conducted across eight cities, the study shows that smartphones are integral to the daily lives of young people, with 74% spending more than four hours a day on their devices. Key factors influencing their purchasing decisions include camera quality (86%) and battery life with fast charging capabilities (79%).
realme has achieved the highest customer satisfaction ratings among major smartphone brands, boasting a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 81, indicating robust advocacy and intent to recommend. The findings further emphasize realme's strong association with youth, as consumers perceive the brand as both youthful and performance-oriented.
The desire to upgrade remains significant, with over half of young users intending to purchase a new device within the next year, primarily motivated by enhancements in design and camera features. Recommendations from peers and online reviews are crucial in shaping their buying decisions.
Francis Wong, Chief Marketing Officer of realme India, commented on the survey results, stating, “Being recognized as the Most Popular Smartphone Brand Among Youth validates the trust young consumers have in us. It reflects their confidence in our performance, innovation, camera reliability, and overall user experience. We are pleased to see realme strongly associated with youthfulness and trust, reinforcing our connection with young consumers as we continue to innovate meaningfully.”
Prabhu Ram, VP of the Industry Research Group at CMR, added, “Today’s always-connected Gen Z consumers view smartphones as extensions of their identity and lifestyle, assessing them based on how well they fit into their daily digital routines. As smartphone usage grows, expectations for design, reliability, battery life, and camera capabilities are becoming standard requirements. Brands that consistently provide a positive ownership experience are more likely to foster long-term loyalty among young users. realme’s popularity among youth reflects its alignment with these changing expectations.”
The study also highlights realme's expanding presence in the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) market, where it has garnered high satisfaction ratings, particularly regarding design, battery life, and sound quality. The findings emphasize the significance of ownership experience, with youth engagement, seamless purchasing processes, and effective after-sales support being vital for building loyalty.
As young consumers increasingly focus on performance, reliability, and innovative design, realme is dedicated to providing technology experiences that resonate with their evolving digital lifestyles.
