RCB's Captain Rajat Patidar Praises Bowlers After Victory Over LSG in IPL 2026
RCB Triumphs Over LSG in IPL 2026 Match
In the IPL 2026 match held last night, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), led by Rajat Patidar, faced off against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). LSG batted first, scoring 146 runs for the loss of 10 wickets, thanks to contributions from Mitchell Marsh (40 runs), Ayush Badoni (38 runs), and Mukul Chaudhary (39 runs).
However, this target proved to be quite manageable for RCB, who chased it down in just 15.1 overs. Following the match, captain Rajat Patidar shared his thoughts on the game.
Patidar Credits Bowlers for the Win
Under Rajat Patidar's leadership, RCB has climbed to the top of the points table after defeating LSG. Despite this success, Patidar refrained from labeling RCB as the favorites for the IPL 2026 title. In the post-match interview, he stated,
“Our bowling was exceptional. Winning the toss was crucial for us. The way our fast bowlers bowled was impressive.”
Patidar attributed the victory entirely to his bowlers, who effectively restricted LSG's top order. Notably, due to Josh Hazlewood's performance, LSG managed only 35 runs during the powerplay while losing one wicket, which significantly contributed to their defeat.
Patidar Highlights Key Bowlers' Contributions
In this match, Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets for 38 runs, while Suyash Sharma bowled 4 overs for 34 runs without claiming a wicket. Patidar commented on their performances, saying,
“I never know what Krunal Pandya will bowl next, but he is undoubtedly a brave bowler. Suyash Sharma's stump-to-stump bowling was excellent.”
He also praised Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, noting,
“Having specialists like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood with the new ball makes a captain's job easier, as they require minimal guidance. Their experience and mindset also assist the other bowlers. We still have a long way to go in our title aspirations, and for now, we are focusing on one match at a time.”
Interestingly, Patidar did not mention Rasik Salam, who took the most wickets in the match, instead choosing to credit his four key bowlers for the victory.
