BJP Leader's Comments on Protest Demographics

New Delhi: On Sunday, senior BJP figure Ramesh Bidhuri claimed that the number of individuals fixing punctures and locksmiths surpassed that of students during the recent protest at Jantar Mantar against the NEET paper leak.

Speaking at a Gen Z Summit in Tughlaqabad, South Delhi, Bidhuri condemned the offensive language directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the demonstration.

His comments follow Modi's earlier appeal for forgiveness towards young protestors who used derogatory terms against him and his deceased mother.

Bidhuri questioned, "Can the youth of India speak about Modi ji and his family in such a manner? They must be the offspring of those who repair punctures, using such language against Modi ji."

The former two-time MP for South Delhi also criticized opposition leaders, asserting that the youth were misled into participating in the protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which demanded the resignation of then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak.

He reiterated that the presence of puncture repairers and locksmiths at Jantar Mantar was significantly higher than that of students.

In a video message shared on Instagram and X on August 1, Modi expressed his distress over the abusive language directed at him and his late mother during the protest, describing it as a cultural shock.

He urged for understanding towards the misguided youth, emphasizing the need to guide rather than punish them.
