Ramdev's Perspective on Brahminism and RSS
Yoga guru Ramdev expressed on Wednesday that there should be no concern regarding slogans against Brahminism and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), as the Constitution guarantees equal rights to all communities. Speaking to reporters in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, he emphasized that while chanting slogans against Brahminism or the RSS may be inappropriate, the Constitution ensures equal rights for every group. Ramdev stated that the governance of the country cannot be determined by street protests; it is the Parliament that holds this responsibility. Decisions regarding the education minister and other key positions must come from the Prime Minister and Parliament.
Ramdev's Comments on Protests
Discussing the slogans targeting Brahminism and the RSS, he remarked that if Prahlad Joshi was born into the Brahmin community and learned nationalism from the RSS, it should not be a cause for concern. He further stated that the Constitution provides rights not only to Dalits and the oppressed but also to Brahmins, making it unconstitutional to speak ill of Brahminism or Shudras.
Ramdev also criticized the protests by 'Generation Z' at Jantar Mantar, claiming that such demonstrations tarnished India's image.
