At a recent press conference in Nurpur, former Minister for Forest and Youth Services & Sports, Rakesh Pathania, expressed serious concerns regarding the operational status of the Mother & Child Hospital. He launched a pointed critique against the state government, labeling the current situation as a significant administrative failure.

Pathania recounted that during his time in office, the construction of the hospital was completed with the aim of serving not just Nurpur but also the surrounding areas, including Indora, Jawali, Fatehpur, and the Bhatiyat region of Chamba. However, he claimed that the facility has now become a mere 'white elephant,' offering little to no practical use. He questioned the sudden interest of the current government and local officials in the hospital's condition after four years, characterizing their recent initiatives as mere 'electoral stunts.'
