Rajnath Singh's Bold Claims: Is Kerala's Safety at Stake Amid Political Corruption?
Political Allegations in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram: On Wednesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a fierce political attack in Kerala, claiming that 'not even God is safe in God’s Own Country.' He accused both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) of engaging in corruption and appeasement tactics.
While campaigning for NDA candidate Vatsala Prasanna Kumari in Paravur, Singh drew a parallel from the Bible, stating that Judas betrayed Jesus for silver, and suggested that the LDF had similarly 'betrayed Lord Ayyappa for gold.'
He alleged that individuals involved in the purported gold theft were being protected, pointing out a photograph that allegedly shows a senior Congress leader with one of the accused.
Singh confirmed that the CBI would investigate the alleged gold theft linked to Sabarimala and called for stringent measures against those accused of misappropriating public funds.
Targeting both political fronts, he remarked that despite their apparent rivalry, the LDF and UDF are 'two sides of the same coin' regarding corruption.
'Their flags may differ, but their ideologies align. They are allies in corruption,' he quipped.
He also accused both coalitions of having ties with extremist groups, questioning who would defend Kerala from organizations like the SDPI and Jamaat-e-Islami.
'Only the BJP can ensure the state's safety,' he claimed.
Referring to the Malayalam film Ponman, Singh criticized what he termed an 'obsession with gold' among certain leaders, alleging that those close to the Chief Minister are the true beneficiaries.
Regarding the Munambam land issue, he charged both the LDF and UDF with appeasement politics, failing to support families threatened with eviction.
He further accused Congress of seeking alliances with such organizations for electoral advantage.
Encouraging voters to see the election as a fight against corruption and appeasement, Singh asserted that the BJP offers a viable alternative.
In Paravur, the electoral contest features UDF candidate and Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan against LDF’s E.T. Tyson Master, a CPI MLA, setting the stage for a significant electoral battle.
