Modern Warfare Beyond Traditional Boundaries

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that contemporary warfare transcends conventional borders, encompassing economic, digital, energy, and food security. Speaking at the establishment day and diamond jubilee celebration of the military school in Ghorakhal, Uttarakhand, he noted that today's conflicts extend beyond mere territorial disputes, integrating various aspects of national security.

He pointed out that the nature of conflicts has evolved, with threats emerging from economic, cyber, space, and information warfare, necessitating constant vigilance and readiness from all citizens.

Government's Commitment to Strengthening Armed Forces

Rajnath Singh praised the government's efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to equip the armed forces with advanced weapons and technologies. He urged citizens, especially the youth, to cultivate mental resilience and intellectual clarity through discipline and determination, enabling them to support the nation in facing any challenges.

Referencing the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) concept, he encouraged students to adopt their own versions of foresight, understanding, courage, and adaptability to effectively tackle modern challenges.

Initiatives to Foster National Values Among Youth

The Defense Minister elaborated on the government's initiatives aimed at instilling values of nation-building in the youth, including the recent decision to establish 100 new military schools across the country under a public-private partnership model. He also mentioned the expansion of vacancies in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), increasing the intake capacity from 1.7 million to 2 million cadets.

Rajnath Singh described the admission of girls into military schools as a historic and revolutionary step, enhancing the nation's 'Nari Shakti' (women's power). He expressed confidence that these girls would become torchbearers of 'Nari Shakti' in the future, achieving new heights in various fields.

Celebrating 60 Years of Service

During the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Ghorakhal military school, Rajnath Singh congratulated students, teachers, alumni, and families, expressing hope that students would uphold high standards of discipline and dedication, bringing pride to their families, institutions, and the nation.

He further noted that over the decades, the school has successfully sent more than 800 students to the National Defense Academy and over 2,000 candidates through various entrance schemes like the Combined Defense Services Examination and the Air Force Common Admission Test.
