Rajiv Rai to Send Legal Notice to Om Prakash Rajbhar Over False Claims

In a significant political move, Rajiv Rai of the Samajwadi Party has announced plans to send a legal notice to Om Prakash Rajbhar for allegedly spreading false information about party divisions. This comes after Rajbhar's claims of a factional split within the SP and his accusations against party leader Ram Gopal Yadav. Rai firmly stated that no MPs would leave the party and expressed readiness to facilitate BJP legislators joining the SP if requested by Akhilesh Yadav. The situation highlights ongoing tensions within the party and raises questions about its future dynamics.

Legal Action Against Misleading Statements

On Wednesday, Rajiv Rai, a member of the Samajwadi Party, announced his intention to issue a legal notice to Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar. This decision follows Rajbhar's dissemination of incorrect information regarding alleged divisions within the party led by Akhilesh Yadav. Speaking to a news outlet, Rai stated, "I am preparing to send a legal notice to O.P. Rajbhar for spreading false information against me. Not a single MP from our party will leave." He further emphasized that if SP leader Akhilesh Yadav requests, every MP from their party would facilitate the inclusion of five BJP legislators into the Samajwadi Party.

Rajbhar's Allegations and Party Dynamics

Last week, Rajbhar claimed that a meeting had taken place between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Rajiv Rai. He alleged that Rai would lead a faction and separate from the Samajwadi Party. On Friday, Rajbhar launched a scathing attack on the SP, accusing party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav of considering Rajbhar and Maurya as inferior to the Yadav community.

Rajbhar also predicted a split within the SP, suggesting that the rebellion would originate from the land of Ballia, asserting that while Brahmins may forget, they will not tolerate disrespect. His remarks are being linked to Sanatan Pandey, the only Lok Sabha representative from the SP in Ballia. Previously, accusations of disrespect towards the Brahmin community had surfaced during an SP conference.

Rajbhar's Statements on Social Media

Rajbhar took to X to express that the entire Bahujan community has witnessed the arrogant comments made by Ram Gopal Yadav regarding Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and himself. He accused Yadav of consistently viewing Rajbhar and Maurya as lesser beings. He further claimed that the party would face a division, stating that the remaining party's national president would be the true leader capable of reviving the party, while the other arrogant leaders would diminish in stature.
