Inauguration of Rajeevika Rakhi Mela 2026


Jaipur. The 'Rajeevika Rakhi Mela-2026' was grandly inaugurated on Tuesday at the Secretariat premises in Jaipur by Secretary of the Rural Development Department, Mr. Krishna Kunal.


This fair, which connects the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan with women's empowerment and rural livelihoods, will take place from August 18 to August 21, 2026, at the Secretariat.


The event showcases handmade rakhis, heartfelt gifts, and a variety of handicrafts, organic, and local products crafted by women from self-help groups across the state.


Celebrating Women's Creativity and Self-Reliance

The handmade rakhis created by SHG women have become a major attraction at the fair. These rakhis reflect the creativity, local art, and traditional skills of rural women.


In addition to their aesthetic appeal, the rakhis emphasize the use of eco-friendly materials and local resources.


Each purchase not only symbolizes the bond between siblings but also supports the self-reliance, economic empowerment, and dignity of rural women.


Diverse Products on Display

Alongside the rakhis, the fair features a variety of products including pooja thalis, paper bags, crochet items, appliqué work, wall hangings, textiles, wooden products, home decor, resin items, herbal soaps, and traditional bangles.


Visitors can also find organic laddus, cookies made from millet, traditional pedas, and dry fruit laddus, making the fair a hub for nutritious food products.


This event serves as a platform to showcase Rajasthan's rich folk arts, handicrafts, traditional products, and rural entrepreneurship.


Participation from 12 Districts

Women from self-help groups in 12 districts, including Ajmer, Barmer, Bundi, Churu, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Jhalawar, Karauli, Pali, Bhilwara, and Rajsamand, are participating in the fair.


These groups bring traditional arts, crafts, and local products from their respective regions, providing a broad platform for showcasing the diverse culture and art of the state.


Encouragement from Brand Ambassador

Mrs. Ruma Devi, the brand ambassador of Rajeevika, visited the fair to observe the products made by SHG women and encouraged the entrepreneurs.


She praised the quality of the products and motivated the women to continuously strive for innovation and better market access.
