Rajasthan Police Achievements Overview

The Rajasthan Police have made remarkable strides in crime control, law enforcement, and technology-driven policing in recent times. There has been a notable decrease in serious crimes, effective actions against paper leak mafias, and a robust campaign against drug traffickers and organized crime, alongside the successful implementation of new criminal laws. During a press conference held at the Rajasthan Police Academy, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma presented a detailed report card of the achievements over the past six months, emphasizing that the Rajasthan Police will not only respond to crimes after they occur but will prioritize crime prevention, disrupting the economic base of criminals, and adopting smart policing techniques.

Addressing the media, DGP Sharma highlighted that due to proactive policing, there has been a significant 4.65% reduction in total crimes recorded under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) when comparing the first half of 2025 to the same period in 2026. In 2025, there were 99,272 cases, while this number dropped to 94,652 in 2026. Conversely, spontaneous actions by the police led to a 4.25% increase in cases registered under local and special laws, rising from 49,087 to 51,172, showcasing the aggressive strategy employed against criminals.

Significant Decrease in Crime Rates

During the press conference, Sharma clarified that there has been a substantial decline in nearly all major crime categories within the state. Compared to the previous year, murder cases decreased by 4.41% (from 703 to 672), attempted murder by 11.17% (from 1,288 to 1,145), robbery by 16.28% (from 43 to 36), and theft incidents by 19.93% (from 577 to 462). Similarly, cases of abduction saw a 4.72% reduction (from 5,211 to 4,965), adult rape cases dropped by 13.36% (from 2,088 to 1,809), and cases registered under the POCSO Act decreased by 20.90% (from 1,651 to 1,306).

Historic Improvements in Property Crimes

Sharma highlighted the historic improvements in property crime recoveries during the press conference. The recovery rate for robbery cases increased from 71% to 79.09%, while the recovery rate for burglary cases surged from a mere 9.58% to an impressive 58.24%. Additionally, the recovery of stolen goods improved from 10.34% to 24.79%.

Enhancements in Women's Safety

To expedite justice for victims of crimes against women, the pace of investigations under the ADG Civil Rights has been accelerated. The average investigation time for POCSO cases, which was 78.2 days in 2024-25, has now reduced to 51.2 days in 2025-26, while the time for rape cases has decreased from 81 days to 52 days, reflecting significant improvements in police efficiency.
