Rajasthan Police Arrests Shakoor Khan: Allegations of Espionage Linked to Stolen iPhone
Arrest of Shakoor Khan
Shakoor Khan, previously detained on suspicions of espionage for Pakistan, has now been formally arrested by the Rajasthan Police. He has been placed under a seven-day remand. Khan has served as the personal secretary to former cabinet minister Sale Mohammad. Additionally, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against him.
Details of the Case
The case dates back to May 25, 2025, when an iPhone 13 Pro was reported stolen from the Shantinagar police station area in Jaipur. During the investigation, authorities discovered that the stolen device was being used in Pakistan, with calls made to various Pakistani numbers. Furthermore, there were indications of suspicious conversations occurring through WhatsApp video calls.
Evidence of Espionage
Investigators found that the phone had been used to send videos and images of religious sites to contacts in Pakistan, raising alarms among security agencies. The stolen iPhone 13 was eventually recovered from Khan, who is now under scrutiny for his connections to suspicious Pakistani numbers.
Suspicious Contacts
The following Pakistani numbers were identified as having received calls from the stolen phone:
- Visa Danish Mohammed – 9810488939
- Nirmala Devi Visa – 7357409787
- Haji Wali Mohammed Daresh – 923445001555
Authorities have determined that the phone was used to share locations and multimedia related to religious sites, suggesting a potential link to an international cyber-espionage operation.
