Rajasthan Government Focuses on Heritage Preservation and Development
Commitment to Heritage and Development
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, stated on Wednesday that the state government is dedicated to both the preservation of heritage and the core principles of development.
He highlighted that over the past two years, the government has accelerated the development and expansion of essential services such as roads, electricity, water, education, and healthcare.
Sharma made these remarks during a ceremony in Ramgarh Shekhawati, where various development projects were inaugurated and laid out, marking the completion of two years of the state government.
The Chief Minister emphasized the unique heritage of Shekhawati's havelis, asserting the government's commitment to their preservation. A total of 662 historical havelis in Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Churu have been identified for restoration, which will be developed into a tourism hub to bolster the local economy. A law will also be introduced to facilitate their protection and development.
According to an official statement, Sharma noted that the Shekhawati region has been a favored location for film shoots. To establish Rajasthan as a national and international film production center, the state government has launched the Film Tourism Promotion Policy-2025.
This policy aims to enhance tourism activities in the state while also creating local employment opportunities. Sharma mentioned that efforts are underway to implement the Yamuna water agreement to ensure water availability in the Shekhawati region.
A detailed project report (DPR) is currently being prepared. He also acknowledged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken significant steps for the welfare of farmers, youth, the poor, and women, and the Rajasthan government is committed to advancing this welfare initiative.
