Jaipur, May 22: Following directives from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters in Jaipur, the ACB's Tonk Unit executed a trap operation on Friday, resulting in the arrest of two individuals, including Dr. Meenu Gangal, an Associate Professor and Head of Department, along with Ramesh Chand Meena, an Assistant Professor at Dr. K.N. Modi University, located on Banasthali Road, Niwai. They were caught accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.

The Director General of Police (ACB), Govind Gupta, reported that the ACB's Tonk Unit had received a complaint from a student enrolled in the two-year B.Ed. program (Session 2024–26) at Dr. K.N. Modi University, who claimed to be facing harassment from the accused.

It was alleged that both individuals colluded to demand a bribe of Rs 23,000 to regularize the student's attendance, allow him to sit for the main examinations, and issue his admit card.

During verification on May 21, 2026, the accused reiterated their demand for Rs 23,000, assuring the complainant that paying the bribe would enable him to take the exam and receive his admit card. Under the guidance of Narayan Togas, Deputy Inspector General of Police, ACB Ajmer Range, and led by Trap Laying Officer Rishikesh Meena, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB Tonk, a trap operation was set up.

In the course of the operation, Dr. Meenu Gangal allegedly directed Ramesh Chand Meena to accept the bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant within her office, and in her presence. Ramesh Chand Meena reportedly received the cash, counted it, and placed it in his trouser pocket, from which the ACB team later recovered the tainted money.

Both individuals were apprehended at the scene while accepting the bribe. Further investigations and interrogations are being conducted under the supervision of Smita Srivastava, Additional Director General of Police, ACB.

A case has been filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the investigation is ongoing.
