Chandigarh, July 28 - On Tuesday, various regions in Punjab and Haryana experienced rainfall, providing much-needed relief from the heat. The downpour led to waterlogging in several areas, particularly affecting low-lying regions where traffic was disrupted and congestion was reported.
According to the meteorological department, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab recorded 15.2 millimeters of rain, while Bathinda saw 14.5 millimeters. Other areas in the state also received rainfall, with Ludhiana measuring 13.6 millimeters, Pathankot 9.8 millimeters, Hoshiarpur 4 millimeters, Jalandhar 3.5 millimeters, and Mohali 1.5 millimeters. The joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh, recorded 1.7 millimeters of rain.
In Haryana, Ambala received 0.1 millimeters, while Bhiwani recorded 4.4 millimeters. Karnal saw 3 millimeters, Mahendergarh 1 millimeter, and Sonipat 2.5 millimeters of rainfall.
