Rahul Gandhi's Upcoming Visit to Tamil Nadu

On August 1, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to visit Tamil Nadu, where he will engage in discussions with party officials as part of the grassroots initiative known as the 'Organization Creation Campaign.' This information was shared by the party on Friday. Notably, there are no plans for Rahul to meet Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay during this trip.

Ghulam Ahmed Mir, the Congress General Secretary and in charge of Tamil Nadu, along with B. Manikkam Tagore, the president of the party's Tamil Nadu unit, informed reporters in Chennai that Rahul will address officials at the closing ceremony of a 10-day training camp for district Congress committee presidents, which has been running from July 23 to August 1 in Mamallapuram. Rahul is expected to arrive in Chennai at 11 AM on August 1, after which he will preside over the party event before departing for Delhi at 6 PM. This training camp is part of the 'Organization Creation Campaign' aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots level.

When asked about the possibility of a meeting between Rahul and Chief Minister Vijay, Tagore stated that the Chennai schedule for the top leader is focused on party organization. The Congress party is part of the coalition government led by the Tamilaga Vetria Katchi (TVK) in Tamil Nadu.
