Rahul Gandhi Questions Sudden Completion of India-US Trade Deal

In a recent statement outside Parliament, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questioned the abrupt conclusion of the India-US trade agreement, which had been stalled for four months. He accused Prime Minister Modi of being fearful and compromising the nation's interests for the sake of his image. Gandhi highlighted the pressures surrounding Modi, linking them to ongoing legal issues involving Adani in the US. He emphasized the need for the public to understand the implications of these developments and the reasons behind Modi's actions. This situation raises significant questions about the integrity of leadership and the impact of external pressures on national decisions.

Opposition Leader Raises Concerns Outside Parliament

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who was not allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha, expressed his concerns outside Parliament regarding the sudden conclusion of the stalled India-US trade agreement, which had been pending for four months. He demanded a comprehensive explanation from the government about the trade deal. Accusing Prime Minister Modi of compromising the nation, Rahul stated that the Prime Minister is fearful because those who crafted his image are now tarnishing it.

Allegations Against the Prime Minister

Rahul Gandhi remarked that Modi appears anxious. He pointed out that the trade agreement, which had been on hold for months, was finalized by Narendra Modi just last night, indicating significant pressure on the Prime Minister. He emphasized that Modi's reputation is at stake, urging the public to reflect on this matter. Notably, this was the first time the opposition leader was denied the opportunity to speak during the President's address. Rahul accused Modi of selling out the hard work of the people for the sake of his image.

Concerns Over External Pressures

He further claimed that Modi is scared because those who built his image are now the ones damaging it. Citing ongoing legal issues involving Adani in the US, he suggested that these matters reflect back on Modi himself. He mentioned that there are still undisclosed details in the Epstein files that the US has yet to release, contributing to the pressure on the Prime Minister. Rahul presented a 'certified' copy of an article referencing unpublished memoirs of a former army chief amidst the uproar in the Lok Sabha. In response, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that indirect references to a previously decided matter should not be made.

Rahul Gandhi reiterated that he was silenced because Modi is afraid. He noted that the trade deal, which had been stalled for four months, was suddenly signed by the Prime Minister last evening. He highlighted the immense pressure on Modi, suggesting that the carefully crafted image, costing around 1000 crores, could burst. He urged the public to consider who is exerting this pressure on the Prime Minister and how it is being done.
