Rahul Gandhi Questions Foreign Minister on Air Force Losses During Operation Sindoor

In a recent session, Rahul Gandhi has raised serious questions regarding the Indian Air Force's losses during Operation Sindoor, targeting Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar for his silence on the matter. Gandhi insists that the nation deserves clarity on the number of aircraft lost, framing the situation as a significant issue of national interest. He shared a video where Jaishankar discussed prior notifications to Pakistan about the operation, prompting further scrutiny from Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera. Khera emphasized the importance of strategic decisions made by political leaders during conflicts, suggesting that these decisions can greatly impact military effectiveness. The ongoing debate highlights the complexities of military and diplomatic relations in contemporary politics.

Rahul Gandhi's Critique of Foreign Minister

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, once again raised concerns regarding Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. He accused Jaishankar of remaining silent about the number of aircraft lost by the Indian Air Force during Operation Sindoor. Gandhi emphasized that the nation deserves to know the truth. He expressed on social media, "The silence of Foreign Minister Jaishankar is not merely a statement; it is disgraceful. Therefore, I will ask again: How many Indian aircraft did we lose because Pakistan was informed? This was not a mistake; it was a crime. The country has the right to know the truth."

Gandhi shared a video from May 17, where Jaishankar stated that prior to the operation, a message was sent to Pakistan indicating that the attack was aimed at infrastructure and not military targets, suggesting that the military could choose not to intervene. He noted that Pakistan chose not to heed this advice. Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera remarked that wars are not only fought at borders but also strategized by political leaders.

Khera pointed out that while the armed forces bravely perform their duties at the borders, the role of strategists in the capital is equally crucial. Their influence can either bolster or undermine the military's efforts. He stated that Rahul Gandhi's inquiries regarding the Foreign Minister's statements are significant, especially since U.S. President Donald Trump has been reiterating his role in mediating to halt wars across various nations over the past week.

Khera further claimed that Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar himself informed media agencies that Pakistan was notified before the attack. He questioned the implications of such notification, asking if the Foreign Minister trusts Pakistan enough to believe that terrorists would remain passive upon being informed. Khera criticized the Foreign Minister's actions, suggesting that this should not be termed diplomacy but rather espionage. Despite Jaishankar's statements being widely acknowledged, attempts to downplay them continue. He raised concerns about whether this espionage allowed figures like Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed to escape unharmed.
