Ranchi, August 6 - Rahul Gandhi, a prominent leader of the Congress party, has pledged to provide all possible assistance to the youth protesting against alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in Jharkhand. This assurance was made during a conversation with a student leader involved in the protests on Thursday.

Student leader Ravindra Paswan reported that during a phone call on Thursday evening, Gandhi requested the protesters to send details of their demands and assured them that he would address their concerns with the state government. The demonstrators are calling for the cancellation of the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) civil service examination and an independent investigation into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process. They demand that this inquiry be conducted either by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or by a panel of retired judges from outside the state’s high court.

Additionally, they are advocating for significant reforms within the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). Currently, six protesters are on a hunger strike, marking the 13th day of this student-led demonstration.

Paswan informed reporters, 'I spoke with Rahul Gandhi and made him aware of the situation here, particularly highlighting how the examination mafia is thriving. I urged him to clarify the Congress party's stance on this issue since they are part of the ruling coalition.'
