Gandhi's Strong Remarks on Economic Policies
On Wednesday, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, criticizing him for announcing austerity measures while embarking on a foreign trip amidst soaring inflation and rising fuel prices. Speaking at a gathering of the Bahujan Swabhiman Sabha, Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of "selling India's economic system." He condemned Modi for advising the public against purchasing gold and traveling abroad, only to leave for a tour of five countries shortly thereafter. Reiterating his warning about an impending economic storm, he claimed that neither the Prime Minister nor the government would be able to safeguard the nation.
Contradictions in Modi's Statements
Gandhi remarked, "Modi tells the public: Don't buy gold, don't travel abroad, use electric vehicles. Immediately after making these statements, he boards a plane worth millions and departs for foreign lands, while the public watches in silence. Meanwhile, an economic storm looms over the country. Severe inflation is on the horizon, prices of everything will rise, and there will be a shortage of fertilizers. He further asserted that Modi has sold India's economic framework to the likes of Ambani, Adani, and foreign interests. An economic crisis is approaching, and neither Modi nor the Indian government will be able to save you. They will lament and claim it is not their fault. The blame lies solely with Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, and the RSS for destroying the Constitution.
Questions on Fuel Price Hikes
Additionally, the Congress leader questioned the Prime Minister regarding the escalating fuel prices, pointing out that the government had assured no price hikes before the elections. He recalled promises made that there would be no shortage of petrol or gas and that petrol prices would remain stable. Today, as petrol prices rise, Ambani is exporting petrol from India. He purchases petrol from Russia and sells it abroad, using the profits to fund Prime Minister Modi. This is the reality. Furthermore, Gandhi emphasized the teachings of revered figures like Veer Pasi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, advocating for equal treatment of every citizen in accordance with the Constitution. He launched a sharp critique against the BJP and RSS, asserting that the country belongs to everyone, not just a single caste or organization. He stressed the need for collective efforts to protect the Constitution, stating that both Veer Pasi and Ambedkar believed that every citizen in India is equal and deserves fair treatment and equal rights. This nation belongs to all, and the Constitution echoes this sentiment. Upholding the Constitution is our collective duty.
