Rahul Gandhi Criticizes PM Modi Over NEET Paper Leak Controversy

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and a senior Congress figure, launched a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the NEET paper leak issue. He accused the central government of jeopardizing the futures of millions of young people in the country. This sharp response from the Congress leader followed Modi's recent statement announcing the establishment of special fast-track courts to ensure swift punishment for those responsible for the paper leak. The Prime Minister emphasized that the welfare and future of the youth are the government's top priorities, asserting that those who jeopardize their future will not be spared.

'You Have Ruined the Education System'

In a post on X, Gandhi claimed that the education system has been "captured and destroyed," holding the government accountable for shielding those responsible. He stated, "You are the one who has harmed the future of our youth the most. You allowed and encouraged the total capture and destruction of our education system - and protected every person responsible for it."

Echoing the Students' Demands, Gandhi Listed:

1. Dismiss Dharmendra Pradhan.

2. Issue an apology to the students.

3. Take action against those who assaulted them.

Fast-Track Courts Announced

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi reiterated that the welfare of the nation's youth is the government's highest priority, stating that anyone attempting to harm their future will face consequences. Amid ongoing protests from the youth regarding the NEET paper leak, he announced the decision to establish fast-track courts to ensure prompt and severe punishment for those involved. Modi posted on X, emphasizing, "Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth! Those who attempt to harm their future will not be spared."

Since the movement began on June 20, demands have included accountability for alleged irregularities in competitive exams, reforms in the education system, the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and compensation for families of students who reportedly committed suicide due to the paper leak.

On June 28, activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the movement and has been on an indefinite hunger strike since then. He stated on Wednesday that they would end their fast if the central government assures that no punitive actions or FIRs will be taken against the protesting students and youth.

Following an order from the Delhi High Court, he has been transferred from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
