Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Government's Silence on West Asia Crisis

In a recent statement, Rahul Gandhi criticized the Indian government for its refusal to discuss the ongoing crisis in West Asia during parliamentary sessions. He argued that this silence is an attempt to hide the pressures faced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from foreign powers. Gandhi emphasized the potential economic repercussions, including rising oil prices, and expressed concern over the government's avoidance of critical discussions that could affect the public. As the opposition pushes for dialogue, the Lok Sabha proceedings faced disruptions, reflecting the growing tensions surrounding this issue.

Opposition Leader Calls for Discussion on West Asia Situation

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, expressed concerns that the government is unwilling to discuss the West Asian crisis in Parliament. He argued that such a discussion would reveal how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has succumbed to pressure from the United States and Israel. Gandhi emphasized that the turmoil in West Asia could negatively impact the public, particularly through rising oil prices.

Gandhi, representing Raebareli, questioned the extent of damage the West Asia crisis could inflict, stating that significant changes are underway. He warned that this situation could severely harm the economy, pointing to fluctuations in the stock market. He accused Modi of having made agreements with the U.S. that could lead to a major shock for the country. He wondered why the government hesitates to discuss this issue, suggesting that they could address other topics afterward. He raised the importance of West Asia, fuel prices, and economic devastation as critical public concerns.

He further claimed that if a discussion on the West Asia crisis were to occur in both houses, the Prime Minister would struggle to face Parliament. Gandhi insisted that they consider this matter significant and wish to engage in dialogue, but the government avoids it to protect Modi's image. He suggested that the truth about how the Prime Minister is being compromised would come to light, which is why the discussion is being avoided. He noted that the Prime Minister had previously fled from Parliament, indicating he would not be able to handle such scrutiny.

Amidst strong opposition demands for a discussion on the West Asia situation, the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned on Monday. The lower house is scheduled to reconvene on March 10 at 11:00 AM. The second phase of the budget session began with intense confrontations, as BJP members accused the Congress-led opposition of disrupting proceedings with protests regarding the West Asia conflict. Earlier, members of the India Bloc demonstrated outside Parliament, chanting slogans against the central government over the West Asia issue.
