Rahul Gandhi's Change of Plans

The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress member Rahul Gandhi has decided to cancel his scheduled trip to Kerala due to concerns regarding his mother, Sonia Gandhi's health. This information has been confirmed by sources. Consequently, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will take Rahul Gandhi's place for the electoral tour in Kerala. This development comes just a day after Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for treatment, where doctors are closely monitoring her condition.

Previous Health Issues

Sonia Gandhi had previously been hospitalized at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in January due to breathing difficulties. At that time, Ajay Swaroop, the hospital's president, stated that extensive medical examinations revealed that her bronchial asthma had worsened due to the combined effects of cold weather and pollution in Delhi. As a precaution, doctors decided to admit her for monitoring and further treatment.

Current Condition

In an official statement, Swaroop mentioned that Sonia Gandhi was experiencing breathing difficulties, and medical tests indicated a slight increase in her bronchial asthma due to environmental factors. She was admitted for further observation and treatment, but her condition is currently stable. Swaroop also noted that the senior Congress leader is receiving treatment with antibiotics and other supportive medications.
