Gandhi's Strong Words for Home Minister

New Delhi: On Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized Home Minister Amit Shah for his lack of response regarding the alleged police violence against students who were protesting. He emphasized that Shah would eventually have to address this issue.

During his 'Chhatron ki Goonj' event in Prayagraj, Gandhi recounted a student's despair, who expressed feeling hopeless after years of hard work and financial sacrifices by his family.

Gandhi remarked on social media that this situation reflects a systemic failure rather than an individual one, highlighting the struggles faced by students.

Despite the protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar being called off, Gandhi noted that Shah has yet to comment on the police's actions against the demonstrators.

He criticized Prime Minister Modi for being preoccupied with 'forgiveness' instead of addressing the grievances of the youth.

Gandhi firmly stated that the demand for accountability would not cease, pointing out the use of force against young protesters in the capital without any acknowledgment from Shah.

He reaffirmed his support for students, calling them the nation's future, and expressed solidarity with their cause.

The Parliament has been in a stalemate over the Opposition's insistence that Shah should address the alleged police brutality during the protests on July 20.

Most legislative discussions have been overshadowed by chaos.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized Shah for failing to address the issue in Parliament, noting that Shah did not attend the Rajya Sabha despite calls for his presence.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju responded to the Lok Sabha, stating that the Opposition cannot dictate which minister should respond to their inquiries, amidst demands for Shah to clarify the police's actions against the protesting students.

Earlier, Gandhi celebrated the foundation day of the Indian Youth Congress, emphasizing the importance of youth in India and the organization's commitment to advocating for their rights and aspirations.
