Clash Between BJP and Congress Workers in Bihar
During Rahul Gandhi's voter rights campaign in Bihar, a clash erupted in Patna between BJP and Congress supporters following derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother. In response, Gandhi emphasized the triumph of truth and non-violence, stating on social media in Hindi that falsehood and violence cannot withstand the power of truth. He asserted, 'No matter how much you try to harm or destroy, we will continue to uphold truth and the Constitution. Truth alone prevails.'
As tensions escalated, BJP workers stormed the Congress office in Patna, protesting against the offensive comments directed at Modi. A video captured the chaotic scene, showing numerous party members clashing with flags raised high. During the BJP's demonstration against Congress, stones were reportedly thrown at the Congress office. Bihar's minister and BJP leader Nitin Nabin stated that the public would give Congress a fitting response.
Nabin remarked to a news outlet that every son of Bihar would retaliate for the insult to a mother. He vowed that they would seek retribution. Meanwhile, Congress worker Ashutosh criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, alleging that the clash was orchestrated with government complicity. He insisted that a strong response would be forthcoming, accusing Kumar of wrongdoing. Earlier in the day, police in Darbhanga arrested an individual for making offensive remarks against Prime Minister Modi.
In light of the altercation in Patna, Congress leader Digvijay Singh commented that such actions reflect the BJP's desperation. He asserted that their struggle is for the voters, firmly rejecting any attempts to register voters from Gujarat while disenfranchising those in Bihar. Singh accused the Election Commission and the government of acting in a biased manner.
