Rahul Gandhi Accuses BJP of Supporting LDF in Kerala Elections

In a recent address, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of covertly supporting the Left Democratic Front in the upcoming Kerala assembly elections. He highlighted the ideological conflict between Congress and the BJP-RSS, alleging that central agencies target opposition leaders while sparing LDF members. Gandhi also criticized Prime Minister Modi for his silence on the Sabarimala temple issues, suggesting a collaboration between the BJP and LDF. He promised that the UDF would address any temple-related irregularities if elected. This speech raises significant questions about the political dynamics in Kerala.

Gandhi's Allegations Against BJP

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party and the opposition in the Lok Sabha, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of indirectly backing the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the upcoming Kerala assembly elections. Speaking at a public gathering in Adur, he characterized the electoral contest as a battle between the United Democratic Front (UDF) and a "CPI(M)-BJP alliance."

The 'Hidden Hand' of BJP in Kerala

Gandhi asserted that there exists a "hidden hand" of the BJP in Kerala, a term often used by economists to describe unseen market influences. He claimed that the BJP does not want the UDF to succeed, as they recognize that the Congress party is their only real challenger at the national level. He emphasized the ideological battle between Congress and the BJP-RSS. Furthermore, Gandhi alleged that central agencies target opposition leaders while LDF leaders remain uninvestigated. He mentioned that he has faced 36 cases against him and endured 55 hours of questioning, yet no actions have been taken against the Chief Minister of Kerala or LDF leaders.

Silence of PM Modi on Sabarimala

Criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi pointed out his silence regarding Sabarimala during a recent visit to Palakkad. He accused Modi of discussing temples and religion for electoral gain while neglecting to address issues related to Sabarimala and Lord Ayyappa temple. This, he argued, indicates a collaboration between the BJP and LDF. Gandhi assured that if the UDF comes to power, any irregularities concerning the temple will be rectified.
