Allegations Against the Home Minister

Rahul Gandhi has claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is afraid to confront him in the Lok Sabha. He further alleged that Shah ordered police to open fire on protesters and accused him of shedding blood. These statements were met with strong opposition from the ruling party. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju questioned the basis and evidence behind Gandhi's accusations against the Home Minister.

Gandhi's Remarks on Shah's Absence

Gandhi stated that the 'so-called Home Minister' lacks the courage to sit in Parliament. He pointed out that the parents of the children involved did not have the courage to face the BJP-RSS, yet the children stood their ground against whatever was thrown at them. He expressed satisfaction that the so-called Home Minister was not present in the Lok Sabha. Gandhi then reiterated his claim that the Home Minister had instructed the police to shoot. In response, Rijiju challenged him to present that order, demanding to see the evidence.

Speaker's Response to Gandhi's Comments

The Speaker also raised objections to Gandhi's remarks. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stated that Gandhi's comments could not be recorded unless they were substantiated with factual evidence. He urged Gandhi to focus on facts and reminded him that, as the leader of the opposition, he is expected to discuss facts and concentrate on the bill.

Opposition's Demand for Continuation

Opposition MPs chanted slogans demanding that Gandhi be allowed to continue speaking, while protests from the ruling party persisted. Amidst ongoing disruptions and protests, the Lok Sabha was adjourned until 2:30 PM.
