Raghav Chadha Dismisses Allegations of Inaction on Punjab Issues
Chadha Responds to Allegations
Raghav Chadha has categorically rejected the claims made by the Aam Aadmi Party, which accused him of failing to raise Punjab's concerns in Parliament. In a statement released on Sunday, Chadha labeled these accusations as politically motivated and malicious.
Recent Changes in Party Leadership
It is noteworthy that Chadha was recently replaced as the Deputy Leader of his party in the Rajya Sabha by Ashok Mittal. Following this change, some factions within the party began questioning his effectiveness.
Official Records Speak for Themselves
In his defense, Chadha stated, 'Anyone who monitors parliamentary proceedings knows the truth. I have consistently raised Punjab's issues with prominence and strength. This is not propaganda but a matter of official records that can be verified.'
Addressing Key Concerns
The primary accusation against Chadha was his alleged failure to advocate for the pending funds owed to Punjab by the central government. In response, he shared a video showcasing his efforts to confront the government on this matter in the Rajya Sabha for the upcoming 2024 session.
Raising Important Issues in Parliament
Citing his tenure, Chadha highlighted several critical issues he has brought to the forefront, including the overdue payments from the RDF fund, declining groundwater levels, the plight of farmers, financial injustices faced by the Punjab government, the drug crisis, border state security, and the expansion of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor along with visa-free travel to Nankana Sahib.
A Personal Commitment to Punjab
Concluding his statement with emotion, he expressed, 'Punjab is not just a political issue for me; it is my commitment and my soul. I will continue to fight for Punjab's rights with utmost sincerity and courage.'
