Following this, Qatar will take on Canada in Vancouver on June 19, and will wrap up the group stage against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Seattle on June 25.
Introducing a Young Star: Tahsin Mohammed Jamshid

The squad features players from diverse backgrounds, showcasing the international nature of the team as they gear up for the global event under head coach Julen Lopetegui.
Among the notable names is Tahsin Mohammed Jamshid, who has garnered attention from the Malayalee community. The 19-year-old made it to the final squad after being included in the preliminary roster, marking a significant achievement for youth development in Qatar.
Tahsin's selection was based on his impressive technical abilities and tactical flexibility, which he demonstrated during the training camp leading up to the tournament.
Tahsin's Background and Rise in Football
Although Tahsin Mohammed Jamshid will represent Qatar in the FIFA World Cup, he has strong ties to Kerala, with his parents originating from Thalassery and Valapattanam. His father, a former footballer at the University of Calicut, currently works as an accountant in Qatar.
Tahsin's family relocated to Qatar when he was just three years old, and he grew up in Doha, where he developed a passion for football, initially inspired by his father. He honed his skills at the Aspire Football Academy.
He began his professional career in the Qatar Stars League and made his senior debut for Al Duhail against Al Rayyan in 2024. His performances in the U16 and U17 teams led to his promotion to the U20 squad and eventually the senior national team.
With his inclusion in the World Cup squad, Tahsin Mohammed Jamshid has made history as the first footballer of Indian descent to be part of a national team competing in the FIFA World Cup, and he is poised to make his debut in the upcoming tournament.
