Sindhu, currently ranked 10th in the world, took only 32 minutes to defeat Peru's Ines Castillo with a score of 21-13, 21-11 in her opening match at this BWF Super 500 event. She is set to compete against fellow Indian Isharani Baruah in the pre-quarterfinals. Isharani, ranked 39th globally, earned her spot in the next round after a tough three-game match against China's Han Qianxi, winning 22-20, 10-21, 21-14. Ranked 36th in the world, Tanvi has shown remarkable improvement, moving into the top 50 from outside the top 100 last year, although she has faced challenges with consistency this season, having advanced past the first round only twice in eight tournaments.

In the upcoming second round, Tanvi will face compatriot Malvika Bansod, who triumphed over Thailand's Tonrug Saeheng with scores of 15-21, 21-7, 21-13 to secure her place in the last 16.
