Punjab Police Takes Strong Stance Against Drug Trafficking and ISI Threats

In a recent statement, Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, emphasized the commitment of the Punjab Police to maintain peace and thwart any attempts by the ISI to destabilize the region. The ongoing anti-drug campaign has reportedly forced drug traffickers to retreat, showcasing significant success. The police are focusing on targeting real traffickers while providing support to those struggling with addiction. This proactive approach aims to ensure the safety and harmony of Punjab's communities.

Ensuring Peace and Harmony in Punjab

Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav has made it clear that the Punjab Police will not allow anyone to disrupt the peace and harmony established in the state. Recent intelligence reports indicate that the ongoing anti-drug campaign has dealt a significant blow to Pakistan's ISI, which is now plotting new schemes to undermine these efforts.

The DGP emphasized that the Punjab Police will not permit the ISI to create instability in the border state under any circumstances. He assured that those attempting to disturb the state's peace will face exemplary punishment. A recent example of this was the police's response to the attack on the Thakur Dware Temple in Amritsar, where the main accused was neutralized by police teams.

Success in the Anti-Drug Campaign

During a high-level meeting with senior officials, including Special DGPs, Additional DGPs, and Inspectors General of Police, the DGP addressed the media, stating that the decisive anti-drug campaign has forced drug couriers and traffickers to retreat. He noted that the impact of this war against drugs is historic, with police intelligence confirming that even drug suppliers are now hesitant to pick up heroin packets dropped by Pakistani traffickers, significantly disrupting the heroin supply chain.

Targeting Real Drug Traffickers

DGP Gaurav Yadav explained that the Punjab Police is focusing on actual drug traffickers while ensuring that individuals suffering from addiction are not unnecessarily harassed. Instead, they are being admitted to rehabilitation centers for treatment. He further stated that this special operation against drugs is being conducted under the supervision of senior police officials, including Special DGPs, Additional DGPs, IGs, and DIGs, who have been assigned responsibilities across various districts.
