Significant Weapons Cache Discovered

The Punjab Police have successfully thwarted a significant terrorist conspiracy by uncovering a cache of military-grade arms and explosives in the Tarn Taran district. This breakthrough occurred during the investigation into a recent explosion on railway tracks in Patiala. Authorities have indicated that this plot is linked to the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and pro-Khalistan terrorists.

The investigation revealed a deep-rooted terrorist scheme involving a substantial amount of ammunition and explosives, with connections to the ISI and Khalistani militants, as reported by the Punjab Police on Wednesday.

Connections to International Terrorism

Further inquiries have shown that the terrorist module involved in the explosion on the train tracks in Shambhu was supported by an organization based in Malaysia and had ties to Surinder Singh Thikriwal, who resides in the United States and has allegedly been linked to other terrorist groups in the past.

DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that the Patiala police, in collaboration with the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar, conducted a raid in the village of Panjwar Khurd in Tarn Taran. During this operation, they seized a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), a 2.296-kilogram metal IED, electric wires, three detonators, two packets of RDX weighing 1.456 kilograms each, and a P-86 hand grenade.

Additional Weapons and Arrests

The authorities also confiscated three pistols—a 9mm Glock-18 CX from Austria, a .30 bore PX5 Storm, and a .30 bore Star Mark—along with five magazines and 84 cartridges, two Baofeng wireless sets, a headset, and two timer switches. This operation was based on information provided by Satnam, also known as Satta, who is the brother of the main accused, Jagroop Singh. Jagroop was killed while allegedly placing an IED on the freight corridor tracks in Patiala.
