Arrests Made Following Amritsar Police Station Attack

The Punjab Police have apprehended four individuals, including a minor, in connection with an attack on a police station in Amritsar earlier this month. A senior official provided this update on Friday.

According to Gaurav Yadav, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, initial investigations revealed that the suspects were in contact with an individual linked to Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, via social media. They allegedly received funds to carry out the attack.

On the night of July 21-22, assailants on motorcycles hurled an incendiary device at the Chamiyari police station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ajnala police area. The arrested individuals have been identified as Karanbir Singh, also known as Gora, and Mandeep Singh, both from Harar Khurd village in Amritsar, along with Pradeep Singh from Gujjarpura, Amritsar. Additionally, a minor has also been taken into custody.

The police stated that the investigation is ongoing to trace the connections related to this case, aiming to identify the entire network and uncover the sources of funding.
