BJP's National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh stated on Wednesday that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has forfeited his moral right to remain in office. This assertion follows a controversial video that was condemned by the Sikh community's highest religious authority, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, for allegedly disrespecting revered figures and sentiments within Sikhism.
Chugh recalled that when the video first emerged months ago, Mann dismissed it as fabricated, claiming it was created using artificial intelligence. He had challenged the head of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to allow a competent agency to investigate the video, asserting its authenticity. According to Chugh, Mann had staked his credibility on the outcome of that investigation.
During discussions with prominent Sikh figures, organizations, and groups on June 15, the truth was revealed. Chugh mentioned that the video was subjected to forensic analysis by two accredited laboratories in the country, both of which conclusively determined that the video was genuine, unaltered, and not AI-generated. The very test that Mann had previously called for has now turned against him.
Based on these findings, the Sikh community's highest religious body labeled Bhagwant Mann as a traitor to the Guru and anti-Panthic, advising the Sikh congregation to socially boycott him.
