Punjab BJP President Accuses AAP of Election Manipulation
Allegations of Election Fraud in Punjab
Keval Singh Dhillon, the President of the Punjab BJP, has leveled serious accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government regarding electoral fraud during the recent municipal elections in Morinda. On Saturday, he submitted a memorandum to Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, urging intervention in the matter. Following his meeting with the Governor, Dhillon stated that there were unprecedented irregularities in the elections, and he received a positive response from the Raj Bhavan.
Dhillon emphasized that the scale of manipulation by the Punjab government in the recent local body elections is unparalleled in the history of any Indian state, particularly in Punjab over the last 70 years. He claimed that in areas where the BJP had a majority, AAP members were allowed inside, doors were locked, and their candidates were declared winners. He accused them of hijacking the elections in broad daylight.
Furthermore, Dhillon alleged that BJP candidates faced significant challenges during the nomination process. He mentioned that even at the stage of filing nominations, their candidates' legitimate documents were forcibly rejected. He expressed satisfaction with the positive response from the Governor and stated that they submitted a memorandum regarding the situation in Punjab, affirming their commitment to stand with the people.
Additionally, he criticized the internal strife within the Congress party ahead of a meeting between AICC General Secretary Bhupesh Baghel and senior Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi. Dhillon remarked that the Congress lacks a genuine culture, focusing solely on the pursuit of power. He noted that their infighting is merely about the Chief Minister's position, while the BJP is poised to form the government. He asserted that regardless of how many times Baghel visits, no decision will be reached, as the party remains divided.
