Elderly Man Arrested for Assault and Murder of Four-Year-Old

In a tragic incident in Pune district, Maharashtra, a 65-year-old man has been apprehended for the sexual assault and murder of a four-year-old girl. Authorities reported the arrest on Saturday, following the horrific event that took place in the Bhor tehsil on Friday.



According to police officials, the shocking crime occurred when the suspect lured the innocent child with the promise of food and took her to an isolated cattle shed. There, he committed the heinous act and, fearing exposure, took her life.


The mystery unraveled when the girl's family began searching for her after she failed to return home for an extended period. During their search, they reviewed CCTV footage from a nearby residence, which clearly showed the accused leading the young girl away. This crucial evidence enabled the police to act swiftly and arrest the suspect.


The incident has sparked outrage in the community, leading hundreds of villagers to gather at the local police station to demand strict action against the perpetrator. Subsequently, the crowd blocked the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, causing significant traffic disruptions.


Sandeep Singh Gill, the Superintendent of Rural Police in Pune, assured the public that a charge sheet would be filed within 15 days.
