Demand for Justice in Pune Tragedy

Pune: The father of a young girl who was tragically raped and murdered in Pune has called for the death penalty for the perpetrator, urging politicians to refrain from visiting their home to express condolences.

In a heartfelt video message, he stated, "We are currently in Dehu for the immersion of her ashes. I have received notifications from relatives and friends about various politicians planning to visit us. My family and I have one request: until my daughter receives true justice — until that monster is executed — we do not want any politicians at our home. This is my sincere plea."

He further emphasized, "We will only meet with politicians or anyone else after that monster has been hanged. Until he faces the gallows, I kindly ask that no politician come to offer condolences."

This horrific incident has highlighted the increasing insecurity faced by vulnerable individuals in society. In the Bhor Taluka area of Pune, a 65-year-old man has been accused of the sexual assault and brutal murder of a four-year-old girl, reportedly ending her life by crushing her with a stone.

The tragedy unfolded when the girl was reported missing in the afternoon, prompting her family to launch a desperate search. Tragically, her mutilated and bloodied body was later found.

CCTV footage reportedly captured the accused, an elderly man, leading the child away, which aided police in his identification and arrest.

The shocking nature of this crime has sparked widespread outrage among local residents.

The suspect is now in custody, and an investigation is ongoing.

Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also serves as Home Minister, has condemned the act as a "blot on humanity." He has instructed the Pune Rural Police to build a strong case and announced that the trial will take place in a Fast-Track Court.

CM Fadnavis reassured the public that the "true story and all facts will be revealed soon" and that the government would pursue the death penalty for the accused to establish a firm precedent. He has also ordered increased police presence in the Bhor area to help restore community safety.

In response to significant protests in Nasrapur, CM Fadnavis confirmed that senior police officials, including the Pune Rural Superintendent, are overseeing the investigation to ensure a robust prosecution.
