Protests and Government Meetings in Delhi
In response to allegations regarding the NEET exam paper leak, the 'Cockroach People's Party' (CJP) staged protests in Delhi. On Monday, a significant meeting took place between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, lasting nearly four hours. Meanwhile, a delegation from CJP met with Union Health Minister JP Nadda to present their demands, which included a call for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
CJP leader Saurav Das posted on X that he and Ashutosh Ranka had been at JP Nadda's residence since noon. They outlined their demands, which included an immediate resignation or removal of Dharmendra Pradhan. The post further mentioned that the minister assured them that he would discuss the matter at the appropriate level, although no firm commitments were made. The peaceful protesters vowed to continue their demonstration until their demands were met!
Later, JP Nadda stated that the government had engaged in discussions with the protesting delegation, who had submitted a written memorandum, urging them to end their sit-in. Nadda mentioned in a post on X that this was the first time the protesters proposed a dialogue with the government, which began at 11:50 AM. The meeting was conducted in a positive atmosphere, and he requested all protesters to conclude their sit-in and assist the administration in restoring normalcy.
Meanwhile, Delhi police dismissed Saurav Das's claims that a 12-year-old girl was assaulted during the CJP protests and that numerous individuals were seriously injured. The police labeled these allegations as false, stating, "Fact Check: Misinformation is being spread on social media. It was claimed that a 12-year-old girl named Geetanjali was assaulted, had her hair pulled, and suffered a head injury, along with around 40 to 50 others sustaining head injuries."
