Protests Demand Accountability in Nashik

On Friday, members of the Bajrang Dal staged a protest outside a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office in Nashik, calling for severe penalties against those involved in alleged conversion and sexual harassment cases. The activists gathered outside the district collector's office, chanting slogans condemning the incident.

Earlier this week, a special investigation team (SIT) was established by the police to look into complaints filed by eight female employees of the multinational corporation TCS. These employees accused their senior colleagues of mental and sexual harassment, claiming that their grievances were ignored by the human resources (HR) department.

According to investigators, the police have arrested eight individuals from TCS, including seven men and one female operations manager. Reports indicate that another female employee is currently missing.

The protesters are demanding strict action against those involved in the alleged forced conversions and harassment racket within the company. TCS has stated that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding any form of harassment or coercion and has suspended the employees allegedly involved in the Nashik incident.

N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, described the situation as "seriously concerning and distressing," and confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway, led by the company's Chief Operating Officer, Arathi Subramaniam, to uncover the facts and identify those responsible. On Thursday, Hindu organizations also organized a motorcycle rally that saw participation from hundreds of women, girls, and boys, with local leaders like Devyani Farande joining the protest.
