Hailing from Balh in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, Prof. Kaushal is the daughter of Mrs. Taruna Kaushal and Mr. Mahesh Kaushal. After marrying in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, she continued her academic pursuits and currently holds a professorship at Narayan Swami College of Nursing, Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University.

Throughout her career, she has garnered numerous accolades, including the Global Women Icons Award, Swami Vivekananda Achievers Pride Award, and the Women Leadership in Healthcare Education Award, among others.
As a specialist in Child Health Nursing, Prof. Kaushal has conducted extensive research in adolescent health, maternal and child health, and community health.
