Priyanka Gandhi Critiques PM Modi's Statement on West Asia Situation
Congress Leader Calls for Parliamentary Discussion
On Monday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks regarding the situation in West Asia during the Lok Sabha session lacked any new insights. She urged for a parliamentary discussion on the matter, allowing all parties to express their views. According to Vadra, it is essential for the country to be informed about the current situation, and a debate in Parliament is necessary.

Congress MP Praniti Shinde criticized the Prime Minister's statement as hollow and superficial. She mentioned that they had submitted a notice for discussion on the West Asia crisis, asserting that the ruling party is completely disconnected from ground realities. Shinde pointed out that while the Prime Minister claimed there would be no power shortages, Maharashtra is currently facing significant electricity shortages, with farmers pleading for power.
In his statement, the Prime Minister asserted that ensuring the safety of Indians during times of conflict is the government's top priority, and the central government is prepared to provide sensitive and vigilant support. He described the situation as alarming, indicating its adverse effects on the global economy and people's livelihoods.

When asked about the Prime Minister's comments, Priyanka Gandhi told reporters in the Parliament complex that he had not provided any new information to the country. She reiterated the need for the discussion notice to be addressed so that they could respond and all parties could share their perspectives. Modi, in his address, noted that the transportation of goods through the Hormuz Strait has been a challenge since the onset of the conflict, yet the government is working to minimize the impact on gas and fuel supplies.
