Prime Minister Modi's New Office Nears Completion at Raisina Hill
New Office Set to Open Soon
The new office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, located near Raisina Hill, is almost finished. Workers are putting the final touches, and it is expected that the Prime Minister will begin operations from this new office by the end of this month. This facility is part of the Central Vista project and was previously referred to as the 'Executive Enclave', but has now been renamed 'Seva Teerth'.
The complex consists of three buildings: Seva Teerth 1 houses the Prime Minister's office, Seva Teerth 2 accommodates the Cabinet Secretariat, and Seva Teerth 3 is home to the National Security Council Secretariat along with the office of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Central Vista Project Developments
As part of the Central Vista project, the new Parliament building and the Vice President's residence are already completed. The Prime Minister's office is nearing readiness, with three out of eight new ministerial offices also operational. Initially, the Prime Minister's office was to be called the Executive Residence, but government sources later confirmed it would be named Seva Teerth. The Prime Minister's residence is being constructed nearby, and once completed, he will move from his current residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg to the new office.
Facilities and Cultural Significance
Seva Teerth features high-level rooms designed for meetings with dignitaries, equipped with modern technology while reflecting India's culture and traditions. A new room has been prepared for Cabinet meetings. The Prime Minister's office now adopts an open floor model, aimed at transforming the work culture. Historically, the Prime Minister's office was located in the South Block alongside the Ministries of External Affairs and Defence, while the North Block housed the Home and Finance Ministries. These have now been relocated to the Duty Building. A large museum showcasing 5,000 years of Indian civilization is set to be constructed in the North and South Blocks, which are considered colonial heritage sites, with the first phase expected to open early next year.
