Significant Development Initiatives Launched

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth ₹33,500 crores in Burari, Delhi. He launched new sections of the Pink Line (Majlis Park-Maujpur) and the Magenta Line, which will directly benefit millions residing in areas like Burari, Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas, and Yamuna Vihar, enhancing metro connectivity. Additionally, he laid the foundation for three new metro corridors aimed at simplifying travel to the airport and southern Delhi.

Special Gifts for International Women's Day

The event, held in celebration of International Women's Day, saw the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Minister Manohar Lal, who welcomed the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of these metro projects for ensuring safe and convenient travel for women. During the occasion, the Prime Minister also inspected flats constructed under the government housing scheme in Sarojini Nagar and handed over keys to female beneficiaries for their new homes.

India Ranks Third Globally in Metro Networks

Union Minister Manohar Lal highlighted the rapid expansion of the metro network under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. By 2014, only five cities in India had metro systems, but today, India ranks third globally in metro networks, following the United States and China. The Delhi Metro has now exceeded 500 kilometers in length, becoming the city's 'lifeline.' This development is not only reducing pollution but also alleviating traffic congestion.

Focus on Housing and Modern Amenities

In addition to the metro projects, the government is also committed to providing better housing for citizens. The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for modern residential complexes for approximately 9,000 government employees. The plan includes developing residential areas near metro stations to minimize travel time for residents. These new initiatives are expected to boost economic activities in Delhi and the NCR region.
