On July 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Rajasthan and Gujarat, where he will inaugurate significant infrastructure projects and launch the 'Modified UDAN' scheme. During this visit, he will dedicate development plans worth approximately ₹1.06 lakh crore to the nation and lay the foundation for various initiatives. Additionally, he will inaugurate a semiconductor facility in Gujarat.

The Prime Minister will kick off his day by inaugurating the terminal building at Jodhpur Airport at 10:45 AM, where he will also launch the revised UDAN scheme. Following this, at 12:15 PM, he will head to Balotra to dedicate development projects worth ₹1.06 lakh crore, inaugurate them, and lay their foundations, along with addressing a public gathering.

Inauguration of Semiconductor Facility

Later in the day, around 4:30 PM, he will inaugurate the CG SEMI outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Ahmedabad, where he will address attendees. The modified UDAN scheme focuses on enhancing regional connectivity and represents a significant advancement in India's civil aviation sector, aiming to realize the vision of 'Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik'.

With an allocation of ₹28,840 crore over the next decade, the initiative aims to develop 100 airports from existing unserved airstrips with over ₹12,000 crore in assistance, thereby expanding infrastructure and accelerating aviation-based development. The scheme also dedicates more than ₹2,500 crore for operational and maintenance support for regional airports in their initial years and plans to develop 200 modern helipads in remote or challenging areas.

Support for Regional Airlines

The initiative will continue to provide over ₹10,000 crore in 'viability gap funding' to assist airlines, ensuring the sustainability of regional operations and gradually moving towards commercial viability. This effort includes the procurement of indigenous aircraft and helicopters, such as HAL Dhruv and Dornier, to enhance connectivity in less accessible regions and further the goal of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
