Prime Minister's Visit to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a visit to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. During this trip, he will inaugurate a newly constructed international airport and lay the foundation for various development projects exceeding ₹17,900 crores.

According to an official statement, the Prime Minister will first inspect the passenger terminal building of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport located in Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh. Following this, he will inaugurate the airport and dedicate multiple development projects worth over ₹17,900 crores to the nation, addressing the audience at the event.

In the afternoon, Modi will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Center - Vivek Memorial at the Ramakrishna Ashram in Mysuru, Karnataka, where he will also deliver a speech. The Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, has been designed to accommodate 6 million passengers annually, with an investment of over ₹5,640 crores. The terminal aims to provide a modern, accessible, and efficient travel experience.

The airport features advanced infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and sustainable facilities to enhance operational efficiency and meet future aviation needs. The terminal building adheres to green building standards and is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Its architecture draws inspiration from the cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh.

The ASIP semiconductor project in Visakhapatnam is being developed in collaboration with ASIP Technologies Private Limited and South Korea's APAC Tech. This will be Andhra Pradesh's first semiconductor manufacturing unit approved under the India Semiconductor Mission, producing approximately 96 million semiconductor chips annually and creating high-skilled job opportunities.

Additionally, it will support the growth of a robust ancillary industry for semiconductor manufacturing. In Karnataka, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Center - Vivek Memorial, dedicated to commemorating Swami Vivekananda's historic visit to Mysuru in November 1892 during his tour of India.

During his stay, Swami Vivekananda delivered numerous discourses, engaged with scholars and devotees, and received patronage from Maharaja Sri Chamarajendra Wadiyar X, which enabled him to travel to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893. This Vivek Memorial, established in the historic Niranjan Math complex, spans over 81,000 square feet.

Dedicated to the life, message, and ideals of Swami Vivekananda, this cultural youth center aims to become a powerful hub for value-based education, leadership development, and personality building. The center is expected to benefit over 10,000 students from nearby educational institutions, as well as urban and rural youth. It will host lectures, workshops, short-term courses, and capacity-building programs inspired by Swami Vivekananda's vision of nation-building and character development.
