Prime Minister Modi Engages with West Bengal BJP MPs Ahead of 2026 Elections

In a significant meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed BJP MPs from West Bengal, stressing the importance of clear communication and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2026 elections. He urged the MPs to prepare detailed presentations and maintain focus on party strategies. Modi highlighted the need for transparency in the voter registration process and encouraged the MPs to effectively communicate incidents of violence linked to the TMC. The Prime Minister also discussed the importance of public participation in development initiatives and outlined the upcoming assembly elections across several states, including Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry.
 

Prime Minister's Meeting with BJP MPs

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting with BJP MPs from West Bengal in Parliament. He emphasized the necessity for clear communication and public outreach in light of the current situation in the state, urging the party to strongly oppose the ongoing issues at the grassroots level. According to sources, in preparation for the 2026 elections, the Prime Minister instructed the MPs to develop comprehensive presentations and ensure thorough readiness for upcoming political strategies and mobilization.

A close aide of the Prime Minister revealed that Modi stressed the importance of keeping the SIR (Systematic Voter Registration) process straightforward and ensuring the message reaches the grassroots. He highlighted the need for clarity and efficiency in the process, advocating for a simple and transparent SIR campaign aimed at including eligible voters while removing those who are not qualified. Modi also called on the MPs to maintain focus and confidence within the party as they prepare for the 2026 assembly elections. Addressing the delegation of MPs, he underscored the importance of leveraging the party's strengths and sustaining the momentum built over the years.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister urged the West Bengal BJP MPs to effectively highlight incidents such as the attack on MP Khagen Murmu, so that the public can understand the violence associated with the TMC. On December 3, Prime Minister Modi also met with all Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs from Assam at his office in Parliament, where he discussed their parliamentary activities and encouraged them to be more active among the public.




Modi stressed that MPs should focus on development initiatives in their constituencies while enhancing public participation. He pointed out that sports festivals and social media campaigns are effective ways to connect with the populace. The assembly elections in 2026 will take place in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry, with Assam's elections occurring first. Assam has 126 assembly seats, Kerala has 140, Tamil Nadu has 234, West Bengal has 294, and the Union Territory of Puducherry has 30 assembly seats.
