New Delhi, Sep 5: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a discussion with the recipients of the National Teachers' Awards, focusing on innovative teaching methods, the integration of technology in education, and strategies to boost student confidence.
During the meeting at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, PM Modi emphasized the importance of adapting educational practices to contemporary needs and leveraging new technologies to cater to the expectations of today's youth.
He inquired about the techniques a teacher employs to prepare her students for public speaking and to help them overcome their fears of self-expression.
The teacher highlighted the significance of confidence in public speaking, humorously noting her own nervousness in the presence of the Prime Minister due to his impressive presence.
"Your aura is so strong that it makes mine seem less, sir," she remarked, prompting laughter during the conversation.
In a light-hearted exchange, PM Modi responded, "Isn't it important to have an aura for public speaking?" to which the teacher affirmed, "You already possess a great aura, sir."
Another educator shared her initiatives aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer. PM Modi recalled similar efforts he had undertaken while serving as a Member of Parliament from Varanasi, which focused on promoting awareness and encouraging regular health check-ups.
The Prime Minister stressed that awareness campaigns can lead to significant societal changes when individuals recognize the importance of preventive healthcare and take proactive steps towards regular examinations.
Throughout the meeting, the award-winning teachers recounted their teaching experiences and discussed various methods they have implemented to make learning more engaging and enjoyable for their students.
They also highlighted innovative strategies to simplify lessons and foster greater student participation.
Additionally, the teachers shared examples of community service initiatives they have undertaken beyond their teaching duties.
PM Modi commended their unwavering commitment to education and acknowledged the enthusiasm and dedication they have shown throughout their careers.
He recognized that their ongoing contributions to education have been honored through the National Teachers' Awards, which celebrate educators who have significantly impacted their students' learning experiences and lives.
On the same day, President Droupadi Murmu is set to present the National Teachers' Awards to 48 school teachers at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, coinciding with the celebration of Teachers' Day on September 5.
The National Teachers' Awards aim to honor the exceptional contributions of outstanding teachers across the nation, recognizing those who, through their dedication and hard work, have enhanced the quality of education and enriched their students' lives.
