Prime Minister Modi Engages with Assam BJP Leaders Ahead of Elections
Strategic Meeting at Assam BJP Headquarters
Guwahati, Dec 20: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a crucial meeting with party officials at the BJP headquarters in Assam, focusing on strategies for the upcoming Assembly elections next year.
During this session, Modi addressed various topics, including enhancing the party's organizational structure, the welfare of senior leaders, and the public's perception of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
His visit to Vajpayee Bhawan lasted nearly an hour, during which he actively sought insights from state leaders regarding the government's standing among the populace.
Veteran party member and former state BJP president Narayan Borkotoky shared with the media that the atmosphere was informal, with Modi engaging as a fellow party member rather than a formal leader.
“He elaborated on strategies for the elections,” Borkotoky noted, highlighting the BJP's aim for a third consecutive term in Assam during the state polls scheduled for early next year.
Another party member, who preferred to remain anonymous, remarked on Modi's approachable demeanor, stating, “He did not sit on the dais but mingled with us, fostering interaction.”
Modi also inquired about the health and status of senior leaders present at the gathering.
“He was keen to understand the progress of election preparations, the functioning of the organization, and the public's view of the government,” the leader added.
Prior to the meeting, the Prime Minister led an impressive 3.8-km roadshow from Sarusajai to Vajpayee Bhawan.
