Prime Minister Modi Distributes Over 51,000 Appointment Letters in Rozgar Mela
Rozgar Mela: A Step Towards Employment Generation
New Delhi, July 12: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually handed out more than 51,000 appointment letters to new recruits across various Central government departments during the 16th Rozgar Mela.
This employment initiative took place simultaneously at 47 different locations nationwide.
As per an official announcement, the selected candidates will be joining significant departments such as the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Labour and Employment, among others.
While addressing the new appointees, PM Modi remarked, "Our initiative to distribute appointment letters to the youth in the Central Government is progressing. Today, over 51,000 young individuals have received their letters. Through these employment drives, lakhs of youth have secured stable positions within the Indian government, contributing significantly to nation-building efforts."
He emphasized the diverse departments where these recruits will serve, underscoring their roles in various national missions.
"Many of you will begin your careers in Indian Railways, while others will contribute to national security. Those appointed in the postal service will help implement government initiatives in every village. Some will support the 'Health for All' mission, while others will drive financial inclusion and bolster industrial growth. Regardless of your department, the common goal is to serve the nation and prioritize 'Citizen First'," he stated.
The Prime Minister extended his congratulations to the new appointees and wished them success as they embark on their professional journeys.
Highlighting India's "unlimited potential—demography and democracy," PM Modi noted, "India boasts the largest youth population and the biggest democracy. This is our most valuable asset and a guarantee for the future. Our government is tirelessly working to transform this asset into a catalyst for progress."
Reflecting on his recent international travels, PM Modi mentioned, "Just two days ago, I returned from a tour of five nations. In each country, the strength of India's youth was recognized. The agreements made during this trip will benefit Indian youth significantly."
Initiated on October 22, 2022, the Rozgar Mela is part of the Prime Minister's commitment to prioritize job creation. It aims to accelerate recruitment across government sectors and ensure that vacant positions do not hinder public service delivery.
Official statistics indicate that over 1 million appointment letters have been distributed nationwide through Rozgar Melas since its launch.
This initiative has been instrumental in streamlining the recruitment process, enhancing public service efficiency, and strengthening essential infrastructure in schools, hospitals, railway stations, police departments, and tax offices.
The new appointees under the Rozgar Mela will work across various sectors, reinforcing the government's workforce and contributing to national development objectives.
By expediting the selection process, this initiative ensures that job creation remains central to India's governance agenda.
