Government's Strategy for Legislative Success

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is optimistic about securing the necessary support from the NDA to pass the ambitious Women's Reservation Bill and the Delimitation Bill in the Lok Sabha. Sources indicate that if these bills cannot be introduced during the current monsoon session due to a deadlock between the government and the opposition, a special parliamentary session may be convened later this month to ensure their passage. So far, the government has reportedly garnered support from 366 MPs.

This significant development emerged during a special breakfast meeting with NDA MPs on Friday, as the central government sought to resolve the impasse with the opposition to ensure smooth parliamentary proceedings. Discussions during the meeting also focused on engaging with the youth and strengthening the NDA.


Sources revealed that the Prime Minister indicated that there is ample support to advance the delimitation process, with approximately 366 Lok Sabha MPs backing the initiative.


He mentioned that if the proposed legislation cannot be introduced in the current session, the government is considering calling a special session at the end of this month to push the bills forward. Modi reassured MPs that the interests of their respective constituencies would be taken into account during the delimitation process. In light of recent student protests, the Prime Minister urged NDA MPs to maintain ongoing communication with the youth, particularly Gen Z, to inform them about government initiatives and achievements.

MPs were also advised to engage regularly with young voters and address their concerns or dissatisfaction through direct communication. PM Modi addressed the concerns of MPs from Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, stating that decisions related to the party are made within constitutional boundaries.
